Kayla Shattuck is an Asian American multidisciplinary artist based in Virginia, whose work investigates themes of identity, resilience, and connection.
Through the process of making, each hand-built piece becomes a vessel for emotion, memory, and an opportunity to appreciate the unexpected.
Her creative development has been influenced by her journey with cancer as a young adult, which has taught her to embrace flaws and vulnerability while creating.
Through her art, Kayla invites viewers to reflect on their own narratives, and discover beauty in the imperfect, the overlooked, and the unexpected.
