About the Artist
Kayla Shattuck lives in Virginia and makes lots of things.
She began working with ceramics in the spring of 2021 and expanded into other mediums in 2024 when treatment for breast cancer impacted her control over her dominant arm. Exploring new methods to keep creating while developing physical limitations has taught her to find beauty within boundaries beyond her control. When she is done recuperating, Kayla hopes to help other cancer patients find adaptive ways to create art.
In her free time, she enjoys acquiring used history books and befriending animals.
